Word From the Wise

Word From the Wise is a four-part mockumentary series for Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball, starring Sydney Colson and Theresa Plaisance alongside some of the best players in women's basketball. The premise is simple: Syd and TP take on the role of player development coaches, putting their fellow athletes through increasingly ridiculous drills while everyone does their best to keep a straight face.

I came up with the concept, wrote all four episodes, and directed the series on location with a small team of video producers. We leaned into the awkward pauses, unexpected reactions, and natural chemistry between the players, giving everyone room to improvise and have fun with it. Each episode had two versions: a longer YouTube cut that let the comedy breathe, and a shorter vertical edit built for the faster pace of Instagram and TikTok.
