R15E: Megan Rapinoe's Legacy

In August 2024, Seattle Reign FC retired Megan Rapinoe's No. 15, the first jersey retirement in club history. The occasion became R15E, a citywide campaign celebrating her legacy as an athlete, an advocate, and one of the defining figures in Seattle sports.

As Director of Video, I led the video creative and production for the campaign, developing the concepts and editing the films that brought the celebration to life across stadium screens, transit advertising, and social. I collaborated with the graphics and branding teams to ensure the R15E visual identity carried consistently across every video, motion graphic, and campaign deliverable.

The work ranged from a series of promotional films to a large-scale motion graphic built around the R15E identity. Each piece needed to work within a different format and viewing environment while still feeling like part of one campaign.

For the retirement ceremony at Lumen Field, I also conceived and edited two distinct tribute films. One was a Google Pixel-sponsored video featuring personal messages from Macklemore, Eddie Vedder, Colin Kaepernick, Emma Hayes, Julie Foudy, and others, created for in-stadium playback and social. The other was an emotional, career-spanning retrospective, set to original music composed by Seattle artist Brittany Davis specifically for the R15E celebration.

Following the event, I conceived and edited a longer-form recap of the jersey retirement, bringing together the ceremony, the atmosphere inside Lumen Field, and the personal moments that made the day meaningful. Across the campaign, my role connected the big-picture creative direction with the hands-on work of shaping each film in the edit.
